Our
Food Pantry is usually open from 2:15 p.m. until 4:15 p.m.,
Monday - Friday, and from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, Monday
- Thursday, depending on the pastor's schedule. Please call
first at (740) 286-3711 to make sure someone is at the church.
Please also check with the Jackson Food Pantry/Clothesline on
Main Street. We offer some items (for example, toilet paper
and cleaning supplies) that the Food Pantry downtown is not
able to provide.
Why
do we give away food?
We
don't give away food to earn God's favor; we give away food
because we are responding to God's love by keeping his commandment
to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and
mind, and love your neighbor as yourself (Mark 12:30-31). You
are our neighbor. If you need help, we will try to provide
it. Besides food for your family, we also encourage you to seek
spiritual food through prayer, the study of God's Word, and
worship.
How
Often Can You Receive Help From Us?
We
are not a large congregation and we depend on the generosity
of our members. The need for food in this community is greater
than we can begin to meet. Therefore, we restrict visits to
once each month. We ask that you honor this request. Nonetheless,
if your need is critical, we will not turn you away!
Bear
one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
